On March 24th, I had the opportunity to be at an event that happened at the Musical Instrument Museum, regarding the culture of my country. We got to see some Carnaval dance (Samba), drumming, capoeira (Brazilian martial art), among other things, like getting to listen to the amazing Radio Brazil Band. It was a lot of fun. Maya….Today it is all about you.

Today may be special for you,  but it is more than just a special day. It represents one of the best days of my life. I will never forget the feeling when I first saw your face. It was the most beautiful sight. By that moment, I had experienced many wonderful things, I already knew what was to love someone. But nothing will ever compare to what I felt when I first looked at you. And I could never imagine what would come after that moment…So many wonderful memories during these eight years together. Every day is a great day because you are part of it. When I look at you, I feel so blessed…You are one of my best friends. I will never have enough of you my baby girl.. I can hear you saying “I’m not a baby anymore” but every time I look at your beautiful face, I see that cute little thing I held in my arms for the first time on March 15th, 2004. To me, you are still the same and have not changed a bit. Thank you for being you, for being amazing in every possible way, for being kind, sharing, sweet, gorgeous…I am so proud to be your MOM; I know your daddy shares all the same feelings, your sister is lucky to have you as a big sister, and everyone else loves having you around. Please don’t ever change!

In reality I do… I just don’t post all the pictures here. But I do try to photograph every milestone, every moment of their lives. And the funny thing is that I never think I take enough pictures! I have not blogged as much as I would like, but I love doing it, so I will do it more often now.

I do enjoy all the phases of my girl’s lives. Maya is almost eight, so there is so much going on, and I love how she is growing up. I am having fun with it. But Mila is just so adorable! There is something really special about being around 2 year’s old. I do remember Maya’s smiles, and all the cute little things, but Mila has this FUNNY personality, really strong temper…When she is mad, she IS MAD! Her facial expressions really show what she feels…

I absolutely love this picture, although at that time I have no idea what she was thinking about. I looked, and there she was, with the most serious face ever! So I clicked and I am glad I got this moment. Who knows what she was thinking about…Maybe something just came to her mind…But few seconds later there she was, smiling again!
